Interactive music video for Shihad. Directed by Sam Peacocke and shot on a Phantom camera at 1000 frames per second.

One of those perfect projects where no one was getting paid enough but doing it for the love of the idea and music. Sam was generous enough to envolve us right from the concept stage and the website was integral to the shoot rather than being an after thought.

Technically we were lucky as well. Shot in black and white it compressed very well allowing us to deliver dual HD streams and then interactively switch between them leading to a fully interactive music video.

Wired did a nice little write up on the project. Music Video Captures 105 Faces Flapping at 1000 Frames per Second

Sleepeater has received a FWA Site of The Day award, a Gold at the 2010 Best Awards and most recently a Gold for Digital Craft at the 2011 Axis Awards.

I'm also super stoked that Sleepeater was a finalist in the music category of the 2011 SXSW Interactive Awards, one of the few awards/festivals I truly rate.
